My series of self-portraits intend to acknowledge the ironic, yet paradoxical nature of how we as humans are in a constant struggle with our identity and how we take an invested interest in how others perceive us. Through reflective distortions and selective cropping, I take control of my presented self and constantly challenge conventional portrait methodology.

Despite this portrayal of identity struggle, upon completion I surrender control and perception to the audience. I achieve this through the interactive and practical aspect of my artwork (frame) which the audience is able to spin around, thus providing the audience with the control to discern their own judgement of me, as an individual.
